most of the land is rough and uneven hills and mountains dominate the landscape. the south is extremely cold in the winter as the iced expanse covers the southernmonst tip of the landmass. cradled in the center of the country is forested land with settlements carved from it. the coast is rocky and offers few ports.

Kelsian is known for its harsh land and the warlord clans that rule it in constantly changing internal borders. Kels tend to be worldly and outspoken. They commonly love travel, food and drink, and learning throughout life. Family is very important, and extended families often live together for most or all of their lives.

Geography and Points of interest:
The Singing Temple and the Crystal Caverns are located just outside the city of Wyr, known locally as Kristalo’Na, or “Crystal City.” The Eye of the Abyss, a great chasm believed to allow entrance to the Sundered Realm itself, is located in the south, cradled by the Reapers Sickle lake.

A treaty with Twin Rivers through Lord Viscount Langley in Rylanden allows sanctioned use of KS shores along Fire Forge Bay and the Great Dividing River for licensed vessels. The treaty also grants RD lease to a piece of land on KS shores for a shipyard at the mouth of the bay.

Kelsian was once a stable country ruled by the Valko family, out of the capital city of Valkanth. King Matvi Valko VI arranged a marriage for his heir and only child, Matvi VII, to Melorna Jagra, eldest daughter of the Jagra family in the south. Chaos overtook the land when the King died before the marriage took place and instead of honoring the arrangement, Mat VII abandoned his country and fled. He was never found. With no clear leader, and the Jagra family outraged at the betrayal, KS eventually divided into individual family clans. Several still hold loyalty to Valko, while others took Jagra’s side. Some had no interest in aligning with either, and took the opportunity to become independent.

The widow of King Matvi VI, Deserae Maersk Valko, desperately tried to hold the country together. A month after her husband’s death and the disappearance of her only child, she married Matvi VI’s cousin Ivan Valko. Matvi’s estranged younger sister Asha (spent the last 10 years in Corrias, returned due to the death of her brother) argued against the marriage, insisting she was the rightful heir. Deserae dismissed Asha’s claim, calling her a deserter and accusing her of being an Imperial spy. Asha and a sizable number of the Valko clan seceded and became their own clan (Valkoprava – “true Valko”) and moved south, lending support to Jagra and further dividing the country.
